PITTSFIELD- Blanche Rose Cullen, 85, died peacefully May 1st , at Springside of Pittsfield.
She was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, November 5, 1924 to Joseph and Susan Ally (Brockway) Eulian. Blanche graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1942 and married John J. Cullen April 7, 1945 in Saint Mary's Church, Pittsfield. She was a poet, a painter, a Barbershop singer (Charter Member Berkshire Chapter Sweet Adelines), and a candlepin bowler. She worked for Pittsfield General Electric Co., Williams Florist, Harder Electric Co., and England Brothers Department Store. On several occasions she was a poll worker for Pittsfield's voting venues. Blanche was predeceased by her husband, John J. Cullen; her daughter Sharon Marie Cullen Van Deusen; three brothers, Silas, William, and James Eulian, and two sisters, Florence Eulian (died quite young) and Josephine (Eulian) Melikan. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Cullen Seymour of Pittsfield; two sisters, Lucy Williams of California and Agnes "Peggy" Cadorette of North Carolina; two sisters-in- law, Gloria Eulian (Silas) and Ruth Eulian (James); five grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, and nearly fifty nieces and nephews, several of whom are among her Godchildren. Also surviving are her in-laws Gerard and Ann (Marsh) Cullen, Madeline (Cullen) Simpson, and Robert and "Kay" (Cullen) McCutcheon and their families. She will be missed by countless friends. FUNERAL NOTICE- At Blanche's request, her ashes will be scattered by her family. Wellington Funeral Home 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours. ADAMS- David A. “Mousie” Kelsey, 57, of 17 Murray St., died April 28, 2010 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born March 5, 1953, in New York, NY, the son of Louis and Marie Reeves Kelsey Sr., he graduated from high school in New York City, and attended Springfield Technical College for the radiological technician program. David was employed by various businesses in North Adams and was a jack of all trades. David was a very capable person and was always there to lend a helping hand whenever one was needed, he volunteered at the Red Cross, the North Adams Library and for the Food Project. He leaves his wife the former Brenda Nichols, children Misty, David Jr., Theresa, Joshua, Chanell, Stevie, Totianna, Teresa, Davella, and Charisma, brother Louis Kelsey and his wife Paula, several nieces and nephews and many cousins. FUNERAL.NOTICE- Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11am at the North Adams Congregational Church. There will be no calling hours. Kurt A. Parker August 24, 1969 - May 10, 2010 He was the youngest son born August 24, 1969 to the late Courtland "Bob" and Mary Parker in Pittsfield Ma. He passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2010 due to complications from diabetes. He leaves behind his two beloved children Courtney and Reilly Parker. He graduated from Taconic High School in 1987. He played the center position for the Taconic High School Hockey Team from 1984 to 1987 and was captain his senior year. He enjoyed mountain biking, rollerblading, street hockey, and shuffle board. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his children, nieces, and nephew. He was an avid sports fan of the Vikings, Rangers, and the Orioles. He was most recently employed by Don Davis Heating and Cooling since 2006 as a sheet metal fabricator. Besides his children he leaves his former wife, Jennifer Handy Parker, His sisters, Brenda Monterosso of Cheshire Ma., Deborah Tobin and her spouse William of Dalton Ma., a brother lee Parker of Dalton Ma., Two Aunts, Rita Rainer and her spouse Bill of California, and Jaqueline Clement and her spouse Peter of Lanesboro Ma., His nieces Sandra Provenzano and her spouse John of Pittsfield, Jodilyn Golden and Jeffrey Golden with whom he resided, Tonya Parker, and Jennifer Tobin. He leaves behind many great nieces and a nephew, as well as many dear friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Trina Parker whom died at birth, a brother Scott Parker that was tragically lost in a fire, and a niece Cheryl Monterosso whom died from viral meningitis at two years old. He was a wonderful vibrant man and will be forever missed by so many. FUNERAL NOTICE- Funeral services for Kurt A. Parker will be held Friday, May 14, at 10am at St. Charles Church, with Rev. Peter Gregory pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-6pm at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Following the funeral on Friday, friends and family will be invited back to the home of his sister Deborah Tobin at 767 Kirchner Rd in Dalton, MA. Bette Anne Dufour July 21, 1934-May 16, 2010 DALTON- Mrs. Bette Anne Dufour, 75, died peacefully on May 16, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sharon, Connecticut, on July 21, 1934. The daughter of William and Hazel DuBois Pidgeon, and stepdaughter of Peg. Bette Anne graduated in 1952 from Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village, CT. She married William Dufour on December 19, 1953 in Lakeville, CT. Bette Anne was a resident of Berkshire County and Daytona Beach, FL for 40 years. Bette Anne moved to Lenox, with her family in 1970, to expand the family school transportation business and purchased Yellow Coach Lines. Bill and Bette Anne successfully operated Dufour Tours, Inc. for many years. Bette Anne managed school bus operations in Lenox for over twenty years, before establishing the Tour Company. Bette Anne traveled extensively as a tour director with her company. Many of her customers became dear friends. Bette was a wonderful mother and awesome “nana”. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 34 years and her parents. Bette Anne enjoyed attending the Boston Pops at Tangelwood, cross country skiing, playing cards and gardening. Bette Anne is survived by her four children William D. Dufour Jr. and his wife Barbara of Dalton, Cindy Dufour and Mike Gardner of Pownal, VT, Terri Watson and her husband Dick of Roscoe, IL, and Kim Dufour of Lanesboro. Bette Anne was her grandchildren biggest cheerleader and supporter, she leaves nine beloved grandchildren, Brian Dufour, Lynden Dufour-Dean, Shannon and Ashlee Dufour-Martinez, Justin Dufour and his wife Melanie, Jeffrey, Meg and Ryan Dufour, and Danielle Watson; and several nieces and nephews. Her sisters Phyllis Walsh and her husband Harry and Billie Siena and her husband Jeff; and a very special aunt, Ida Ford. FUNERAL NOTICE- A memorial service for Bette Anne Dufour will be held Wednesday at 3pm at the Church On The Hill in Lenox, with Rev. Natalie Shiras pastor, officiating. Bette Anne will be laid to rest with her loving husband in Salisbury, CT at a later date. Per Bette Anne’s request there will be no calling hours. Her strongest wish was to gather her family and friends, to have a celebration of her life.
