Elena Raquel Chipani January 31, 1961 - June 2, 2010 PITTSFIELD- Elena R. Chipani, 49, formerly of Pompano Beach, FL, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at her home with her loving parents by her side, following a yearlong battle with ovarian cancer. She had resided with her parents for the past two months, following her return from Florida. Born January 31, 1961 in Pittsfield the daughter of Carlos R. and Rita R. Ross Chipani, Elena was a 1979 graduate of Pittsfield High School, in 1983 she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Salem State College in Salem, MA. Elena was self employed and operated her own consultant company, she worked with Fidelity Investments, Boston Coach, Lotus Development Corporation, Data Resource Group, Tarmac-Titan America for whom coordinated marketing, business development, sales, and IT coordinator, as of October 2005 she was a freelance consultant, specializing in contract assignments and projects. Elena’s greatest wish was to live on the ocean or to never be more than five minutes away, which she did accomplish her entire adult life. She loved to travel, especially to California, South American and the Caribbean Islands. While living in Florida she was a communicant of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deerfield Beach, FL. Elena leaves her parents Carlos and Rita Chipani of Pittsfield, two cousins who were like her sisters Rosario “Minki” Mendiata of Bolivia and Patricia Borgo Haraden of Boston, MA, and an aunt Bette Jane Richardson of Port Saint Lucy, FL, and many loving cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE- A private memorial service will be held at the BARTLETT WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be a later date in the Fairview Cemetery in Dalton. There will be no calling hours.
